Repeat the previous step but lay the strip in the other direction. You should have formed a “star� shape. Be sure to tape or glue the “star together before the next step. Now using strips half the length of the strips you used to used to make the star, tape the strips across the other strips to begin to from the web. The longer the star strips are the bigger the web will be. Glue paper spiders to the webs for an added effect.

Kiefer will do jail time

Widely-read celebrity gossip blog The Daily Blabber has officially confirmed that Kiefer Sutherland will do time behind bars for his DUI arrest earlier this week. Many celebrity gossip bloggers, including Perez Hilton, mistakenly insisted that this was Kiefer’s first arrest for driving under the influence. However, after an examination of Kiefer’s police record, the Daily Blabber reported that “in addition to his most recent arrest, the 24 star had been charged with driving under the influence in 1988, 1993 and in 2004… Can you say repeat offender?”

Kiefer is free on a $25,000 bond.

Additionally, the post also reports that due to California law, Kiefer is forced to serve a mandatory minimum jail term of four days in a county lock-up facility. Because the 2004 arrest (which Kiefer somehow managed to keep quiet) comes so close to this one, the post explains that “according to California law, back-to-back DUIs will result in serving a mandatory minimum of four days in jail.”

Paris Hilton heading to Rwanda

According to top celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton, everybody’s favourite hotel heiress is heading into the heart of Africa as another example of her “commitment to use her celebrity to highlight global causes.” Perez quoted Paris stating that “there’s so much need in that area, and I feel like if I go, it will bring more attention to what people can do to help.” The story was originally announced by the New York Daily News. It will be Hilton’s first visit to Africa.

The Rwanda voyage has been coordinated by an organization called Playing for Good, which Perez described as “an organization that helps high-end business and entertainment personalities become involved in charities.” Scott Lazerson, director of Playing for Good, originally invited Paris to visit the war-ravaged country after she was released from prison. The post also reported that “Hilton has said her journey to Rwanda will not be her last visit to other countries.”

Kate Moss/Sienna Miller catfight

Celebrity Gossip blog Frivolous People has revealed the details of an all-UK catfight between Kate Moss and former Mrs. Jude Law- Sienna Miller. According to the post, the trouble began when “Kate accused Sienna of stealing her style.” Moss also accused Miller of “trying to steal her lifestyle and her friends too.” The action reportedly went down at a friends’ wedding reception in London over the past weekend. The post also noted that “an insider said both women had been drinking.”

Frivolous People was sure to emphasize that “when the war of words started, it was Kate launching the first volley.” The two had reportedly been giving each other the stink-eye for most of the evening. The fight was eventually broken up by mutual friend Sadie Frost. According to the post, “Sadie stood between them and reminded them that it was a wedding and that they should show some respect.”

Courtney Love isn’t pushing

According to UK-based celebrity gossip blog Fametastic, Courtney Love has “hit back at Sharon Osbourne’s claim that she supplied Sharon’s son Jack Osbourne with the much abused prescription painkiller Oxycontin.” In fact, Courtney goes so far as to claim that Jack was the one who introduced her to the popular pharmaceutical drug. Courtney stated “the first time I was ever introduced to them [OxyContin] was with Jack.”

Sharon Osbourne was speaking in an interview last month when she openly accused Courtney Love of getting her son hooked on painkillers. Jack Osbourne spent several months in re-hab to curb his addiction to Oxycontin. During the interview, Sharon stated “Courtney was the first person to give my son Jack the prescription drug OxyContin. There’s not a shadow of a doubt about that. My dislike towards her is very personal.”

Courtney Love rejected Sharon’s claims outright. The post quotes her as saying “I never did that. I would never give drugs to a teenager. F*** you Sharon – as if I would ever give drugs to a teenager.” It was also noted that Courtney temporarily lost custody of her daughter Frances bean in 2003 after overdosing on Oxycontin.

Not sure what’s happening with me on this a given, but it seems like the more I keep one’s ears open to it, the better Your Guy gets. Your Man simply stated is the same of Josh Turner’s best CDs to date.

Unfortunately, it’s not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just can’t force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Your Man. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

One of the refreshingly nice things about this CD is the way all of the participating artists seem to be really enjoying themselves. Combine that with the overall presentation and you’ve got one of Josh Turner’s most impressive releases ever.

The reader’s needs must be regarded as paramount, surpassing even the writer’s desire to express herself in a voice she regards as totally her own. I’m sure I read an adage once about ‘knowing thy enemy’, not that I dwell upon such things, but similarly the writer must know the character she is writing. It is of no use to write of an African princess if one has no knowledge of how such a person exists. The honest writer will take her pencil and notebook in hand and research that existence. I do not of course expect her to travel to the dark continent in order to discover such truths, that would require too much of even the most generous of husbands, but in this modern age there are many public libraries where information on such matters is freely available. I would strongly urge every writer to learn the manners of the people she wishes to write if she wishes to speak in their voice.

As it has trickled down from the aristocracy to the people, it has gained refinement, complexity, and variety. Here is a scouting report on five of Izakaya’s selection of 50 fine sakes (click here to read a detailed review of Izakaya—the hot new restaurant at the Borgata).

“Sake is such an important part of eating in Japan I tried to incorporate it into all aspects of the dining experience at Izakaya,� says chef/owner Michael Schulson. Sake charts a course from cocktails to appetizers (the truffled broth for edamame dumplings), dinner (the soak for deep-fried edible fluke skeleton), and dessert (the zip in strawberry shortcake).

What grapes are to wine, rice is to sake. There are dozens of varieties of sakamai, or sake rice. Ginnosei, the rice used to brew Ama no To’s Heaven’s Door, is a hybrid developed to withstand the fierce winters of Akita, the prefecture on the northwest coast of Japan where this sake is made.

Compared to table rice, sakamai has larger grains with a bigger shinpaku (white heart), the starch packet in the center. Milling polishes away the exterior proteins, oils, and minerals that would create off-flavors if brewed. Anywhere from 30 to 60 percent or more of the outer surface is polished away. Generally, the higher the degree of polishing, the more complex, fragrant, and expensive the resulting sake.

In ancient Japan, rice was polished by chewing (and, yes, spitting out), which also introduced the enzyme that changes the starch to sugar. Today, breweries use computer-controlled machines. The brewing process (called multiple parallel fermentation) involves yeast as well as the enzyme, and is more complex than that of beer. Most sakes (including the five below) are filtered and pasteurized. Whether to drink sake warm or chilled “is completely up to a customer’s taste,� says Izakaya manager Craig Slotkin. “There is no right or wrong temperature.�

Schulson’s commitment seems to be paying off. “Sake actually outsells wine and beer at Izakaya,� he says.

A certain word describes the CD Glitter from Mariah Carey… AWESOME!

It’s a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I’m more than happy to announce that’s exactly what I must say about this one. There simply isn’t a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it’s own.

These days it’s a very rare CD on which every single song is good or better than the one before it. This CD is certainly one of those rare CDs.

I’m of the opinion that Glitter is certainly Mariah Carey’s best work in a few years. A totally enjoyable CD and an outstanding release. What I call must have music. I give it two thumbs up because it’s a collection that even the casual Pop fan can appreciate and enjoy.
